How to Make the Most of Your Pole Barn Space?

Organized tools in a pole barn

There is not a single person in the world that does not have a predefined system of managing things, especially when it comes to storing them. If someone else is looking for an extension cord on your behalf, they might not be able to find it as easily as you might. However, once you look for it, you would be able to find it in an instant.

However, you do not need to worry about organizing because it is not so difficult. You should first start by using the things that you have available at home. You might also want to buy any material that you would require to get organized.

If you are into organizing, you would be delighted to know that pole barn is not different. The same kind of practices will apply for pole barn garage, farm shop organizing, etc.

Here is a list of seven ideas that will help you maximize your pole barn storage:

Using a Magnetic Bar for Screws and Nails

A magnetic bar is an easy way of organizing the tools that you might need daily. It is an ideal way of storing tools that you might need to work on an ongoing project. This way, you will not have to worry about keeping your tools back and then taking them out again for the project.

If you are tired of losing the nails during a project then you should keep a magnetic bar with you. This way, all your screws and nails will be in one place. The nails will be off the floor and you would know where to find them.

Using a Pegboard

You can easily find a pegboard at a hardware store nearby. It is a simple way of organizing your tools. It will make taking out the tools easy during a project.

Another reason why you should use a pegboard is that it will help you save a lot of space. Yes, you read that correctly. It means that you would not need to try to find where you last laid the socket wrench.

Installing Shelves

One thing with pole barn is the size and the limited space. Thus, you must make use of shelves. This will help you make the most of the space you have and make everything fit in one place. This way, you will not have to make any major sacrifices in terms of the space and the budget that you have for your pole barn.

In case you have limited space then you need to mindfully make use of it. An ideal way to do it is by using shelves in the small space that you have. You can modify the walls by installing open shelves. This will free up more space and the pole barn will appear spacious than how it was originally.

Storeing Chemicals in Boxes

If you have any chemicals in your pole barn, you can easily store them in storage boxes. This will ensure that they are kept in a safe place. You cannot completely avoid keeping chemicals, especially if you are in the agriculture business. Even if you are only keeping oil in your garage, you need to make sure it is kept in a proper place.

In many cases, there might be a chance that you would require to keep pesticides or paints in your space. In such a case, storage boxes come in handy in keeping everything in place. One thing that you need to keep in mind is that these chemicals are flammable and need to be kept in a confined place to avoid any hassle.

Fill Empty Wall Space with Standing Shelves

In case you are running short on a budget but you still need to make space in your pole building area, you can get your hands on standing shelves. It will help you save both time and money. The standing shelves might not be the best solution to the problem but you can still use them for organizing.

Standing shelves are not that expensive to install and you can easily find them. It is quite a simple way of storing in the pole barn. The standing shelves can easily be used to store bulky items. It will be a great way of freeing up space in the pole barn area.

Installing Hose Hooks

If you are looking for another easy storage idea that will also help you save up space in the pole barn then you should try using hose hooks. An extension cord that is all tangled could become quite an issue. This way, you can easily hang anything on and it will not get tangled.

If you want to try something extra, you can also use PVC pipes to organize the cords and hoses. Both the PVC pipe and the hose hooks will come in handy and will serve the purpose of storage.

Having a Large Workbench

Last but certainly not the least; you need to make sure that you have a proper workbench in your pole barn area. After all, it can get quite tiring working on an uneven sawhorse. The only solution to this problem is by making sure you get your hands on an efficient workbench.

A workbench would serve as the best solution for a post-frame building, no matter what type.
